The Honourable Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario and Minister of Research and Innovation, visited Algonquin College on Friday, July 21, to make an announcement regarding funding for research and market readiness. The Honourable Jim Watson, MPP for Ottawa West - Nepean and Minister of Health Promotion, as well as research and innovation industry leaders, were also on hand for the announcement and to tour the Photonics labs in the College's Advanced Technology Centre.

Local MP Speaks at Girls’ Television and New Media Camp Gala Screening

John Baird, MP, Ottawa West-Nepean, was on the Woodroffe Campus on Friday, July 14, to speak at the gala screening of the Women in Media Foundation Inc. (WIMF) Girls’ Television and New Media Camp. For the second year in a row, the WIMF joined with Algonquin College to utilize Algonquin's state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. The camp is offered to 10 girls between the ages of 12-15 from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds. |
